**Formation and Founding:**

At Ball State University in the year 2014, a group of passionate vocalists came together with a shared vision of creating a unique and powerful pitch-perfect experience. Eventually named, Unexpected Resolution, the tenor-bass a cappella group went on to find their signature look giving them their nickname: “Guys In Green Ties”!

**Members:**

All members of the group are current Ball State University students. Consisting of multiple majors across campus, all the members share a deep love and passion for making music. Brotherhood is a staple for our ensemble, and we work hard to have a number of events and outings throughout the year to help reinforce it. They consist of a skilled lineup of tenor and bass singers, each bringing their unique flavor to the ensemble. From voice majors with classical training to those with no previous experience, Unexpected Resolution boasts a roster of individuals with a shared commitment to musical excellence.

**Collaborations and Outreach:**

In addition to their stage performances, Unexpected Resolution is dedicated to community outreach and collaboration. The group has collaborated with other musical ensembles throughout the midwest, Ball State groups and high schools to promote the joy of A Cappella music and encourage people to try Ball State A Cappella. They frequently travel to other collegiate invitationals to share their love for music to as many places as they can reach. They also host an annual invitational and outreach to surrounding colleges to build relationships with other like-minded groups.

**Albums and Recordings:**

To further share their musical journey with the world, Unexpected Resolution has released several albums, featuring a mix of carefully curated covers and original compositions. Their recordings capture the essence of their live performances, allowing listeners to experience the magic of Unexpected Resolution anytime, anywhere. Most recently we released our second studio EP, "An Unexpected EP Vol. 2" which you can find on all streaming platforms along with our music video of "Levels" by Nick Jonas"!
